The delivery valve is one component of the injection pump. The delivery valve serves two primary functions. Backflow prevention: If fuel flows backward from the injection nozzle side when the plunger is lowered, the time lag from the start of the next pump to the start of nozzle injection increases.
The delivery valve regulates the flow of pressurized fuel from the CP3 pump to the fuel injectors. It ensures that the right amount of fuel is delivered at the precise moment and pressure required for optimal engine performance.
