1. Product Introduction
The Caterpillar C7/C9/C-9 oil control valve is a component used in the fuel injection system of the engine. It is in charge of controlling the flow of oil to the hydraulic injector actuator, which in turn controls the timing and duration of fuel injection. The oil control valve is typically mounted on the engine’s high-pressure oil pump and is operated by the engine’s electronic control module (ECM).
When the ECM sends a signal to the solenoid valve, it opens, allowing oil to flow through the valve and into the injector actuator. The oil pressure against the plunger compresses the spring, causing the injector needle to lift and fuel to be injected into the cylinder.
