3. Product Function

The EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) tester is used to check the distributor injection VP37 pump in the electronically controlled diesel injection system. The system regulates the distributor injection VP37 pump by an electronic control unit, and not mechanically, as in earlier systems. If tests are carried out on the normal injection pump test bench, this function is taken over by the tester, instead of EPS 865 and EPS 910.

The tester comprises the functions of the control unit, which are required for testing the pump, and measures the check-back signals from the distributor injection pump. The injection timing solenoid valve is also activated by the tester. The instantaneous resistance (temperature dependent, see test value sheet) is determined by a millimeter connected to the NTC socket.
